　　英語的句子要求主從句直接要由恰當的銜接詞連接，并列句也要求用銜接詞或分號連接。由于漢語中沒有這些要求，句子之間可以用逗號連接，因此，在四、六級作文中，很多同學的英語句子用逗號連接兩個各自完整的句子;或將兩個句子連接，但是沒有使用標點符號或銜接詞，以致于造成病句。

　　英語的句子雖然結構多樣，但都是由基本的句子結構演化擴展而來。如果句子不符合基本的句子結構要求，缺少必要成分或者將從句或短語誤當作句子，就不能表達一個完整的意思。由于英語和漢語的表達方法和習慣不同，成分殘缺是中國學生在英文寫作中容易出現(xiàn)的問題。
