　　Fire Accidents in Cities

　　Recent years have witnessed a marked growth of fire accidents in cities. We often see flashing fire engines rushing through the streets. Fires have not only caused heavy econornic losses but also injured and killed many people.

　　近年來，城市火災顯著增多。我們常�？梢钥吹骄療糸W爍的消防車從街頭呼嘯而過�；馂牟粌H造成重大的經濟損失，而且也造成很多的人員傷亡。

　　What are the causes of fire accidents? Most of the fires are caused by carelessness and violation of fire safety regulations. Other fires are caused by home electrical appliances, because they are of poor quality or because people do not know how to use them properly. Besides, some businesses have focused so much of their atlention on profits that they often ignore fire precautions.

　　火災事故的原因是什么呢?大部分火災是由于疏忽和違反消防安全規(guī)定而引起的。其他火災是由家用電器引起的，由于家電的質量較差，或因為人們不知道如何正確地使用它們而引發(fā)火災。此外，一些企業(yè)過分注重利潤，他們往往忽略防火措施。

　　To prevent fires and reduce iamages from fire accidents, we should educate people to raise their sense of fire prevention, warn children of the dangers of playing with matches, and instruct workers to be more careful with insulation. In addition, we should improve existing fire engines and add more fire facilities to high buildings. Thus, the fire prevention system will become more reliable. (164 words)

　　為了預防火災和減少火災事故的破壞，我們應當教育人們提高防火意識，警告兒童玩火柴的危險，并指示工人要更加小心地使用絕緣材料。此外，我們應改善現(xiàn)有的消防車，并給高層建筑添加更多的消防設施。因此，防火系統(tǒng)將變得更加可靠。
